The House of Liberty is a European-based think tank and NGO dedicated to advancing democracy in Iran. Rooted in democratic values and bolstered by Sweden’s peace-building legacy, we leverage our neutral stance and extensive network to foster unity and develop comprehensive strategies for sustainable change. Our mission is to increase pressure on the Iranian regime and engage in long-term solution-building.
Our Mission
We combat extremism and oppression, recognizing Iran’s pivotal role in global tensions—including proxy wars, military alliances, nuclear threats, and the influence on extremism. Our strategic initiatives address these issues directly, promoting stability and peace. We actively advocate for policy changes at international levels and raise public awareness about the global significance of a democratic Iran. By educating and mobilizing the global community, we amplify calls for change and garner widespread support for democratic movements.

Collective Action
House of Liberty believes in the power of collective action. We collaborate with an extensive network of NGOs across Europe and the United States, but also Iranian Diaspora and opposition fragments, pooling resources and expertise to promote freedom and democracy. This collaboration supports the Iranian people’s aspirations for a democratic society, emphasizing our commitment to addressing their challenges and amplifying their voices globally. Through these concerted efforts, we aim to make a lasting impact, advocating for the rights and freedoms of individuals in Iran and beyond.
Origins of Our Movement
Our mission was ignited on September 16, 2022, in response to the heart-wrenching murder of Jina Mahsa Amini by the Islamic regime, which also sparked the brave protests across Iran demanding freedom. This pivotal moment galvanized a wave of committed activists to join the fight for freedom and peace.
A landmark endeavor was the European campaign spearheaded by Alireza Akhondi, a member of the Swedish Parliament. His leadership aimed to secure the designation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization by the European Union. This initiative consolidated the efforts of diaspora activists and established a formidable global network, enhancing our unified voice against an adversary that makes this struggle amongst the toughest

In the Spirit of Unity and global responsability, we stand with people charishing democratic values, igniting the flames of freedom and justice across borders for a future where human dignity prevails.
